Home Schooling A growing number of parents worldwide are deciding to teach their children at home. Estimates vary, but in the United States there are at least more than one million children learning at home, with about a 15-20% increase each year. In Canada, there are more than 100,000 children being “home schooled”. Home school families make the decision not to have their children taught in either public or private schools for a number of reasons, including the desire for more individualized instruction. In every group of children, there are some who have a different way of learning successfully or who experience learning difficulties. This is also true for children who are part of the home school community. Just as with children who have remained in a traditional public or private school environment, it is possible that a learning disability or other problem interfering with learning has not been identified. Some children have received a label such as “dyslexic” or “ADD” but their parents have not found the root causes or received recommendations that have been truly helpful. Evergreen’s integrated approach to helping children who are experiencing learning difficulties is different than anything that most families have had the chance to try. Home school parents and students are very skilled at finding the information they need, especially at a distance, and our services are very user-friendly. For more information about how to get

learning and teaching experience even more rewarding and look forward to hearing
from you soon. |
