The Process

The process followed by Evergreen Learning Services is unique in the field of learning difficulties. It is above all NOT a “one-size fits everyone” approach and is also not based on one person’s theory or a promise of a quick fix.

The Evergreen process is a very common sense, step-by-step approach that utilizes the knowledge, research, and therapies that are part of the accepted practices of physicians, nutritionists, vision, hearing and speech/language specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and counseling psychologists.

The help that Evergreen provides children and adult learners is unique because it is based on the understanding that the root causes of learning difficulties are rarely discovered or successfully treated by only one person or one technique.

How To Get Started

+  The parent or the adult student contacts Evergreen by email or telephone to set up a brief consultation to be sure that our services are a good match for your personal situation. At this time the fee arrangement will also be explained.

+  The information packet, including an extensive questionnaire, is sent to you by email, FAX or mail.  The questionnaire should be returned as soon as possible to Evergreen, along with copies of school records, any educational testing that has been completed in the past, and other information requested during our consultation or included in the questionnaire.

+  After the completed packet has been returned to our office, Dr. Minton will complete her review and will contact you by phone or email for clarification and additional information. At this time, an appointment time will be set for your first telephone meeting.

+  During this first phone conference, Dr. Minton will explain the results of the analysis of the information provided by you that appears to be affecting your student’s ability to learn successfully.  She will give you clear recommendations for a step-by-step approach that can be started by you and your student right away.

When the recommendations include a referral to another practitioner, the name and contact information for a specialist who is located as close as possible to your home will be included. A summary of the information presented during the consultation will be sent to you by FAX or email.

+  Follow-up appointments will be scheduled so that you will be able to keep in touch with Dr. Minton on a regular basis. You can also ask for a consultation at any time that you want more information, see a problem developing, or need some encouragement.

 PRIVACY POLICY

We have a stringent privacy policy, particularly because young people are involved in the services that we provide.  For that reason, we do not include testimonial-type statements from parents or students on our website.  However, if a reference is important to you, please contact Dr. Minton and she will put you in touch with other professionals who are familiar with her work or who have referred students to her over the years.
